Description

The Celviano line of pianos has been refined for those who demand an authentic grand piano experience. The new AP-700’s traditional design houses new stereo grand piano sounds and redesigned keyboard action. Utilizing a new tri-sensor spring-less 88 note scaled hammer action, every nuance and detail of your performance is captured.

THREE LEGENDARY PIANOS

Casio’s new AiR Grand Sound Source provides not just one, but three of the world’s finest grand pianos. Dubbed the Berlin, Hamburg, and Vienna Grands, each one is the result of countless hours of precise analysis and study of their unique characteristics. They are faithful and expressive recreations of these distinctive pianos. String/damper resonance, mechanical sounds, and other subtle nuances complete the experience of owning three of the finest pianos on Earth. A total of 26 Tones are included, including other essential instruments like organs, electric pianos, harpsichord, and more.

BERLIN GRAND SOUND DEVELOPED WITH C. BECHSTEIN.

When speaking of the C. Bechstein piano, Claude Debussy declared, “Piano music should only be written for the Bechstein.” This history of C. Bechstein pianos begins with the company’s founding by Carl Bechstein in Berlin in 1853. Now, Casio has joined in collaboration with this renowned piano maker to develop the “Berlin Grand” tone, a balanced, elegant sound with a clearly defined shape. To create its exquisite clarity of tone and vibrancy, we analyzed the tone color of the ultimate C. Bechstein masterpiece, the D282. The resulting sound, which meets with the approval of even C. Bechstein master piano maker Werner Albrecht, has been incorporated into the CELVIANO AP-700 as the “Berlin Grand.”

UNRIVALED DETAIL

The AP-700’s sound is delivered by the new AiR Grand Sound Source, with 256 notes of polyphony. It uses Linear Morphing technology to create smooth, dynamic transitions from the softest to loudest sounds, as well as Damper Resonance to accurately recreate the experience of the strings resonating against the piano’s soundboard when the damper pedal is pressed. String Resonance accurately models the harmonic relationships between the vibrating strings, allowing the notes to interact with one another. Hammer Response allows control over the time between pressing the key and hearing the strings, and Key Off Simulation allows control of a note’s decay by how quickly the key is released.

EBONY AND IVORY-TEXTURED KEYS

The AP-700 features Casio’s Tri-Sensor II 88-note scaled hammer action keyboard. Casio’s superior engineering has resulted in an authentic piano touch that captures every detail and nuance of your performance. This scaled hammer action provides the weight, feel, and resistance of a grand piano without the need for tuning or regular maintenance of an acoustic instrument. Furthermore, the keys feature simulated ebony and ivory textures, providing a positive grip for confident playing.

EDUCATION FEATURES

The AP-700 features a total of 26 built-in tones, with the ability to layer two sounds or split the keyboard to allow a bass sound in the left hand. It has a built-in library of 60 songs that can be practiced at any tempo utilizing the dual headphone outputs or the powerful 20W per side speaker system. Duet Mode allows student and teacher to practice at the keyboard simultaneously.

CONCERT PLAY

Enjoy the experience of playing along with a symphony orchestra with the AP-700’s Concert Play feature. 15 high-quality orchestral recordings are provided, and you can choose whether the piano part is muted or audible. To facilitate practice, these pieces can be slowed down without affecting their pitch.

HALL SIMULATOR

With the AP-700’s Hall Simulator, you can virtually place your piano in a world-famous concert venue. The acoustic characteristics of various spaces are reproduced, creating an immersive atmosphere for your performance. Opera houses, concert halls, cathedrals, salons, and more are available, with a choice of four listening positions for each one.

AUDIO AND MIDI RECORDING

The AP-700 can immediately capture an inspired moment. Easily record two tracks as MIDI, or connect a USB drive for a one-touch direct audio recording.

USB MIDI

Casio continues the tradition of providing “class compliant” USB connectivity on Celviano digital pianos. This allows Celviano to be used with Mac or Windows computers without the need to download drivers. Class Compliant USB MIDI also allows Celviano digital pianos to be used as a controller for the Apple iPad by using Apple’s Camera Connection Kit.

LID SIMULATOR

The tone of a piano changes based on the position of its lid. The AP-700 includes a Lid Simulator that will make detailed adjustments to the tone when its lid is raised or lowered. This allows you to experience the full range of expression of a grand piano, and tailor the sound to suit your choice of music.
