Laura and I played phone tag a little bit, but the process was seamless once I was able to reach her. Robbie’s two-man crew gave me 30-40 minutes notice prior to arrival and were very careful to breakdown and wrap my grandmother’s baby grand piano. The piano arrived at the new location without a scratch and they were so quick to reattached the legs and put it in place. For the price and peace of mind, I don’t think you can pick anyone better.

My church needed a piano for a choir room that occasionally becomes unfriendly to pianos. We visited a couple of piano stores before coming to Cooper. Joshua walked us through the options available, and we decided that a Roland was right piano for us. You should have seen our pianist's reaction when she found out that the Roland would talk to her Android Pad. I'm currently in the process of restoring my piano and am trying out different kinds of key top material on other instruments to see how they feel.

Gloss keys in a gloss case seems to be the industry standard, which isn't really my taste. My piano has an older soft satin lacquer finish on the case that I really like. I think I want to restore the keys to match it, but it's not been easy to find examples of that to play. I want to make sure satin keys feel right when played and not just make that choice for the aesthetics.

I stopped by Cooper today to see if they had anything with matte keys I could try. Jess and Laura were friendly and helpful. I mentioned what I was interested in doing, and they showed me sample options to have my keys restored with different matte materials. They even had a nice ebony sharp sample for me to look at. They also said they could handle removing my action for me. I wasn't expecting anywhere in town to offer that kind of service, and it's great to know a business here is willing to do that for my instrument instead of just selling me a new piano.
