Curtis Winn  was born in Missouri in 1972. He grew up around music his  whole life listening to fiddle players and violinists.  HIs father was the local wood worker in their small town, so he repaired everyone’s instruments. While still a young boy, he nearly drowned. But he was rescued by a man who sacrificed himself to save him. In gratitude he had a 21 year career as a Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue Man. Curtis always maintained his connection to music and instrument building, repair, and restoration. The violin became his love and obsession. He pored over the graduation maps and compositions of  Amati, Stradivarius, and Guarneri. He learned and perfected his own line of finely crafted bench made instruments along the way.  Finally he retired from serving his country, and dedicated himself to the craft fulltime. Cooper Piano is proud to partner with a veteran to bring you these superior handmade instruments made right in the USA. We have a selection available for viewing by appointment.
